What role do you play in your life? The Victim? The Doormat? The People Pleaser? Why aren’t you the Hero? I don’t mean
“their” hero, I mean your Hero.

I can help you be your
Hero in your life

Hi! I am Kim Rasmussen.

My favorite people are my husband, my 4 children, my 2 bonus children and my 2 perfect grandchildren. I love all kinds of things. But mainly I love to learn! Some of the labels I have used to define me are musician, sewer, crafter, diy-er, home designer, baker, reader, runner, math teacher, and Certified Life coach.

However, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, being a good wife, mother and “a good member” were my top priorities, yet I couldn’t figure out why I felt discouraged, empty, and exhausted. I was burning out and became the victim in my life. I didn’t notice that the light in me went out until my body shut down. I was trying to live up to some impossible standard of perfection, and I was always falling short.

Be your hero in your life
gladden your heart

I can help lighten you up and
gladden your heart!

It took me more years than I can count to figure out that being a people pleasing perfectionistic peacemaker set me up for failure before I even started. These P-word tendencies lead to impossible expectations. They pretend to be useful but in reality lead to burnout. Once I realized that believing I had to do it all and then resenting everyone around me was causing me to feel exhausted, discouraged and overwhelmed, I was ready to drop the victim mentality and lighten up!

I will help you make the changes in your life so that you can stop resenting, say no to what matters least and say yes to what matters most. You will take back your life when you will take back your power. It won’t take you as long as it took me to lighten up and gladden your heart, because you have me! Let’s light you up so you can shine as the powerful hero of your life.

I’m the Burnout Coach for other people pleasers, perfectionists and peacemakers since I know how impossible and uncomfortable it feels
to make the change.

I partner with women who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who believe they have to do it all and strive to live up to some standard of perfection, yet, all the while, fall short and feel unworthy.

I understand the tendencies we have to be perfect. I understand the pressure we put on ourselves to even just look perfect. As a fellow member of the church and your burnout coach, I understand your beliefs and I can help you see them as sources of strength, instead of sticks to beat yourself with.. Your agency is the perfect gift, and in our judgment-free sessions, I offer no opinions of what you should do or how you should live, but I will help you see how you use your beliefs against you and that is why you are exhausted and beaten down.

I provide a safe space for you to share your struggles and speak your mind. I will offer you insight into your beliefs so you can see the source of your problems. Good news! It’s in your power to solve them and I’lls show you how to use that power as the hero in your life.

I was there myself
confidence to be the hero

After working together, you will know how to shine in your life and have the
confidence to be your hero.

Burnout Symptoms

Burnout can be different for everyone. Physical and mental exhaustion, the light has gone out of you, you lack the time, energy and desire to take care of yourself or even do something you love, you feel resentment, blame and shame, and of course, you turn to food for comfort. In extreme cases burnout leads to physical and mental illness, like depression or anxiety, chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia.

I experienced the kind of burnout that seriously affected my health three different times in my life. First while serving my mission, next when my kids were 6-14 years old and the last time when I was teaching full time and my two youngest kids were in high school. Three completely different phases of life.

You will find power to lighten up, gladden your heart and
just be you.

What was the cause?

The common denominator (math teacher here) was that I was doing everything in my power to meet impossible expectations. I really believed I was doing what I was supposed to do. “I should” and “I have to” were common sentence starters. I only know that as I look back now. In addition to that, I took on other people’s things because I couldn’t say NO.

It may seem impossible to reverse burnout and all that comes with it, but you can lighten back up and gladden your heart in a surprisingly short amount of time. Things don’t have to stay the way they are.

just be you

What do you have to lose, besides those
unrealistic expectations?

Just like having a physical trainer helps you maximize what your body can do, having me as a life coach will help you maximize what your brain can do for you and live the life you want. I will help you make just the right adjustments in your life so that you will have less stress and frustrations.

Can we just talk? I can help you with any stage of burnout you are experiencing. The next step is to schedule a free mini session with me via Zoom. Check out my Work With Me page for more details or just go ahead and click the button to make an appointment with me.
